How to take care of a new saddle?

I recently got a new saddle and bridle. I'm wondering how to make the leather nice and soft and how to just keep it 'healthy' in general. Oh, and how to take care of leather boots too would be nice. Products would be great too :) I just want to make sure to take good care of all this nice stuff.
