What type of snake should I purchase as a first time snake owner?

I have never owned a snake or any other reptile before and I am definatly getting one but I don't know which one to get. I am really fascinated in them and I love to observe their behaviors. I want a good beginner snake that will be very rewarding to own. I don't want a Ball Python, Corn Snake, or Garter Snake though. Can somebody please help me out?
